About this blog

I've tinkered with blogs for nearly 10 years now and am a regular contributor to our Library blog: The Hardiblog.  I am taking part in Rudai 23 to improve my knowledge of all things social media, but also in the hope of generating the habit of regular reflection and posting.

This blog will consist of my reflections on:

Libraries

 I am passionate about connecting users to the information they need.  My mission is not only to make sure we have the content that our users need available and accessible, but that the route to discovering and accessing that content is so seamless, that users are oblivious to the staff and the efforts involved in getting them to it.

Leadership

Leadership theory and practice is of great interest to me.  I completed the Future Leaders Programme of the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education six years ago now and it had and continues to have a significant impact on me both inside and outside of work.

Life

I love my work, but also try to live life to the fullest outside of work.  Life is busy with full-time work and three teenaged sons, but I try to fit in friendship, travels and fun.  Reflections on life outside of work, both the joys and challenges, are without doubt going to feature!
